This exquisite piece is a Kyoto doll created by "Heian Mitsuyoshi," recognized as a traditional craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and belongs to the Kyoto Hina Association.
The doll faithfully reproduces the "Kōroze Kikurabake Hōōmon" garments worn by the emperor during the enthronement ceremony. Crafted with fine silk featuring traditional patterns, its dignified posture beautifully embodies the elegance of Kyoto.
Achieving a balanced standing posture is quite challenging, as it can easily result in a pigeon-chested or hunched appearance. However, with Heian Mitsuyoshi’s exceptional skill, this standing doll exudes true grace and poise.
Hinamatsuri, celebrated on March 3rd, corresponds to around April 3rd today. We encourage you to celebrate with the vibrant peach blossoms of spring.
