This exquisite piece is crafted in the style of the ornamental helmet (kabuto) of Maeda Keiji, the renowned warrior known as the most flamboyant samurai of the Sengoku period. The "Noshinarikabuto" design incorporates the auspicious shape of the ceremonial "noshi," reflecting the spirit of a Sengoku warrior living in tumultuous times.
Finished in the vibrant red traditionally associated with courageous warriors, this elegant kabuto features a beautiful sunburst cloud crest and imposing water buffalo side ornaments, creating a design that befits the most flamboyant of samurai. The helmet is magnificently displayed against a luxurious gold-leaf folding screen, which symbolizes eternity and protection against evil.
Children’s Day (Tango no Sekku) is celebrated on May 5th, which corresponds to around June 5th today. Why not celebrate this occasion along with the fragrant iris season?
