This exquisite piece showcases the skill of the renowned craftsman Yukitaka Saotome, who specializes in researching important cultural properties and national treasures for armor production. It is a magnificent display of armor, meticulously recreated using the traditional technique of layering individual small plates, reflecting the craftsmanship of the Kamakura period.
The helmet features "fukikaeshi" (the decorative flaps), and the body showcases intricate designs made with deer leather, depicting "Mojishi" (sea lions). The folding screen is a high-quality, authentic four-panel screen featuring a design of "Honkin Kin-sai Kakitsu" (gold leaf iris), representing the finest craftsmanship.
The soft blue background features a wood grain pattern known as "Kawamata Ki-me," created by layering silk over screen paper. On top of this, clusters of irises are adorned with gold leaf, with some areas enhanced with pure gold.
